Welcome to The Website Chain. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for using our services that include Website Design and optional S.E.O. By engaging with us, you agree to comply with the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Scope

1.1 Website Design

  • We use Squarespace platforms. Upon project completion, ownership of the website will be transferred to you as the client.

  • Clients must purchase their own domain through any domain provider they choose.

  • Canva will be our design tool for high quality design engagement.

1.2 S.E.O (SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION) Services

  • S.E.O services will be performed using a professional S.E.O tool and are tailored to improve your website's search engine visibility.

2. Ownership and Transfer

  • Once the project is completed and full payment is received, the project is then transferred to the client for ownership.

  • Domain registration, hosting, and any associated fees are responsibilities of the client. The Website Chain is not responsible for any issues related to third-party providers used.

3. Compliance

3.1 GDPR Compliance

  • The Website Chain operates in full compliance with UK-GDPR regulations.

  • We do not store, share, or use personal data collected from clients or website users beyond what is necessary to deliver our services.

  • All cookies implemented on client websites will comply with UK-GDPR and other related standards if needed.

3.2 Tracking

  • The Website Chain tracks visitor activity for tracking analysis only. No personal data is collected or used in the process of dealing with clients or tracking visitor activity.

4. Client Responsibilities

  • Clients must be clear on information required for the successful project completion. Clients must notify the company if they face any issues.

  • Ongoing website maintenance, hosting, and domain management after ownership transfer are client’s responsibilities after leasing with us.

  • The Website Chain will not be held liable for any issues arising from third-party providers. However, if this affects project for your business, then please get in touch with us.

5. Payment Terms

  • A detailed invoice will be provided for payments to use our services. Once you are happy with finalisations of project, payment must be made in full before the transfer of project ownership, otherwise please let us know if you may need adjustments for you to pay the full price of our services.

  • Refunds are not available once work has been passed over delivered unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.

  • All payments will be made online.

6. Limitations of Liability

  • The Website Chain is not responsible for:

    • Downtime, technical issues, or errors arising from third-party platforms used for company services including, any loss of data or damages caused by third-party services. Therefore, we will both collaborate on having data and work backups to restore important project data.

    • Mismanagement of the website after ownership transfer.

  • While the company puts effort in to high-quality services, we do not guarantee specific results from S.E.O and website creation activities.

7. Termination of Services

  • The Website Chain reserves the right to termination of contract if the client breaches our terms and conditions, or even fails to provide required important information in a timely manner, according to the time length required for the project to be made.  The time length can vary depending on the needs of the client and the project itself.

8. Amendments

  • The Website Chain reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients and visitors will be notified of significant changes to ensure their work is not impacted.  Therefore, backups of data will be necessary. 

  • If clients require amendments in their work before, during and even after project transfer, they shall get in touch and discuss with us further onwards.  There will be no charges for changes required before, during and even after ownership.  However, clients might have to wait for their time slots accordingly.

9. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction in courts.
